Vacation home Provence near Avignon – Tucked away in the very heart of Provence, Les Jonquilles is a small, charming vacation villa with a beautiful mature garden and pool, and lovely views over the surrounding countryside and Les Alpilles hills.

Built in a traditional Provencal style, this property is ideal for a family wishing to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing holiday, with plenty of outdoor space, a sizeable salt-water swimming pool and a useful summer kitchen for preparing barbecues and meals in a lovely setting. A large pergola just outside the living room adds further character to this villa and would make the perfect spot for long relaxing breakfasts.

A few minutes’ drive away is the lively village of St Rémy, where you can easily do your daily shopping and eat out in one of the excellent local restaurants. The entire region around St Rémy is rich in history and art. Van Gogh painted many of his most famous pictures here. A little further north of Les Jonquilles is the splendid walled city of Avignon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which boasts the gothic Palace of the Popes, a wonder not to be missed. Awe-inspiring Roman buildings and ruins are scattered everywhere in this Ancient Roman Province: the impressive triple-tiered aqueduct of the Pont du Gard and the massive arena in Arles are certainly worth a visit. Further west, under an hour’s drive from this villa, is the Camargue National Park, a fascinating wetland known for its pink flamingos, fighting bulls and wild horses, and which offers opportunities for hiking, cycling and horse-riding.
